Another day, another gold for Team USA. And this one was a record-setter. The U.S. was looking to break its record for number of gold medals it had ever won at a Winter Olympics. It didn’t have to wait long. Team USA won a second-straight gold in mixed aerials, defending its title from Beiji ng 2022. That gave the U.S. its 11th gold medal at the 2026 Olympics, a record for the country at a single Winter Games. See where the medal count stands after Day 14 of competition of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics (last updated 2/21 at 9 p.m. EST): Team USA defended their Olympic gold in mixed team aerials with another win at the Milan Cortina Games. Freestyle skiers Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran and Chris Lillis earned a combined top score of 325.35 for the gold medal. Team Switzerland snagged silver with 296.91 points, while China — the heavy favorite heading into the event — claimed bronze with 279.68 points. Mia Manganello clinched the bronze medal in a hard-fought race in the women’s speed skating mass start. This is the United States’ first medal in the event and Manganello’s first individual medal. In the afternoon, 40-year-old U.S. bobsled star Kaillie Humphries and teammate Jasmine Jones took bronze in bobsleigh 2-woman after clocking in with a time that was 0.75 seconds off the lead. Humphries, who also won bronze in women’s monobob at the 2026 Games, now has six Olympic medals. What country has won the most medals so far? It was all but certain for at least a week, but Saturday sealed it officially: Norway will walk away from the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics with the most medals. The country won three more on Saturday, including a gold. That brought their total to 40, with nearly half (18) of them gold medals. The U.S. was not able to cut into that lead in the medal count, nor did it gain any distance from the country behind them, Italy. Team USA added three more medals, giving them 32 in all. And Team USA has now won more golds (11) in these Games than it had in any other Winter Olympics. Also, for just the third time, the U.S. won more than 30 overall medals. Italy, the host nation, kept pace with the U.S. on Saturday, and now has 30 overall medals, 10 of which are gold. It is the best Winter Olympics performance Italy has ever had. Rounding out the top five were Japan and Germany, both with 24. Germany had the edge in gold medals, 7-5. Who has won medals for Team USA? The U.S. won their first two medals of the Winter Olympics on Feb. 8, both of which were golds: In the women’s downhill for alpine skiing, and in the team event for figure skating. Feb. 10 and 11 were among the best for Team USA so far, earning five medals both of those days. Three more were added Feb. 14, and two were added each day from Monday through Saturday.
