San Diego Weather: Chilly start to Saturday followed by a mild afternoon
Feb 20, 2026
A very cold start to the morning for San Diego County, with temperatures from the 30s over our valleys and 40s along our coastline. It’s possible we could see some frost, or even what’s known as freezing fog, which can happen when supercooled water droplets in fog freeze when making contact with
a surface. This can create a thin layer of ice on roads, trees, and cars. NWS says there have already been reports of it at the Ramona Airport.
By the afternoon, temperatures will be fairly mild, staying close to seasonal averages. We’ll see some clouds move in later this afternoon and evening that could stick around through early Sunday.
High pressure is starting to build over the west, which will warm us up starting Sunday. The warmup will feel gradual on Sunday but be more noticeable by Monday when daytime highs over our valleys are expected to make a return to the 80s. By that time, we’ll have temperatures near the 70s along the coast.
Conditions look to stay dry through this upcoming final week of February. Originally, there had been rain chances for the middle of next week, but those have faded. So, expect a pretty mild week, warmest on Monday and then slightly cooler by later in the week.
