A measles exposure was reported at the emergency room at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, on Wednesday, Feb. 18, according to the Division of Public Health. Officials say that they are currently doing contract tracing to find anyone who may have been exposed to the virus. If you were exposed, officials are urging you to check your vaccination status and watch for any symptoms that could develop by March 11, 2026. Symptoms of measles include: fever cough coryza (runny nose) conjunctivitis (pink eye) rash that will occur three to five days after the other symptoms For anyone who starts experiencing symptoms, health officials say to contact the Office of Infectious Disease Epidemiology during regular business hours at 302-744-4990. You can also call the state’s 24-hour reporting line at 1-888-295-5156. Officials say that a person is considered immune from measles if they were: Born before 1957. Given a laboratory test that confirmed that you had measles at some point in your life.Given a laboratory test that confirmed you are immune to measles.
