College Wrap: TCNJ men’s basketball suffers loss at the buzzer to NJCU

JERSEY CITY — The TCNJ men’s basketball team had its eight-game winning streak snapped after a defensive error allowed Donovan Crawford to slip in for a game-winning layup as time expired that gave NJCU a 70-69 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Koch scored 20 points and sank a 3-pointer with e
ight seconds to go that gave the Lions (18-6, 13-4) a one-point lead. TCNJ was looking to extend its winning run ahead of Wednesday’s visit from undefeated and No. 1-ranked Montclair State.
Bakhi Rodgers-Robinson poured in a game-high 29 points for the Gothic Knights (14-10, 10-7).
Women’s Basketball
Princeton 59, Cornell 38
ITHACA, N.Y. — Madison St. Rose scored 15 points and the 24th-ranked Tigers (20-3, 8-2) shook off a first-half malaise in which they tallied just 15 points and romped past the Big Red (8-15, 3-7) with a 44-15 second half.

LAWRENCEVILLE — Aliya McIver scored 19 points, Kristina Ekofo added 17 and the Broncs (6-19, 4-12) kept their MAAC Tournament hopes alive with a victory over the Red Foxes (10-17, 7-10).

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Nene Ndiaye scored 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Scarlet Knights (9-16, 1-13) from dropping a seventh straight game. Kiki Smith led the Boilermakers (12-13,4-10) with 17 points.

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Colin Kurdyla tallied four goals, Greyson Vorgang and Justin Lawler had three each and the Scarlet Knights (2-1) knocked off the Seawolves (0-2).
