Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced Thursday plans for Andaz Heber Valley, which will mark the debut of the first-ever mountain Andaz hotel and the brand’s entry into Utah’s Heber Valley. Developed by Angstrom Development Group, this project will be situated within The Slope, a larger lifest yle mixed-use community masterplan. This project will be delivered in phases, with residences launching in spring 2026 and staged residential completions through 2029. Andaz Heber Valley is anticipated to officially open in January 2029. The hotel will feature 85 guest rooms alongside private residences comprised of 62 condominiums and 140 villas, which will have their own amenities along with special privileges at the hotel. The residences will be introduced separately for purchase at a future date. The group said that the property will introduce “a refined approach to mountain hospitality, one that prioritizes design and wellbeing from a global perspective over familiar alpine clichés.” “Heber Valley embodies the spirit of the American West in a perfectly understated way,” said Amar Lalvani, president and creative director of The Lifestyle Group, Hyatt. “In keeping with the Andaz brand the hotel will be firmly rooted in that spirit while bringing a global sensibility inspired by our travels to places like the Dolomites and Niseko which have very special traditions we have fallen for. We look forward to sharing the first alpine Andaz hotel with guests from around the world as well as the local community.” The property’s architecture and interiors will aim to emphasize local craftsmanship, materiality and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape, the group said. “From the beginning, our vision for The Slope was to create a true mountain village- one that feels alive year-round and is deeply connected to its setting,” said Neil Goldman, managing partner at Angstrom Development Group. “Collaborating with Hyatt allows us to introduce a new kind of alpine hospitality to Heber Valley, one that is design-forward, wellness-driven, and rooted in a strong sense of place. Andaz Heber Valley will bring a global perspective while honoring the character of this valley, and it will play a central role in shaping The Slope as a destination where families, travelers, and the local community can gather, explore, and return to for generations.” From fresh powder skiing and backcountry exploration to hiking and cycling, Andaz Heber Valley is designed as a true four-season destination. The hotel will feature a signature restaurant that emphasizes local ingredients, sustainable sourcing and “hyper-seasonal menus.” The Slope development includes hospitality, residences, dining, retail and outdoor programming. Andaz Heber Valley will operate as a distinct hotel experience, with its own identity and guest offering founded in the Andaz brand, the group said.
