Marcus’ 4 a.m. Thursday forecast INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Central Indiana can expect a gradual warming trend through the end of the week before rain showers arrive on Saturday night. Today: Quiet weather continues under a ridge of high pressure to our west. Look for sunny conditions for much of the morning, with clouds building in later this afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 30s and lower 40s across the state. Tonight: Like the last few nights, look for quiet and cold conditions. Runoff from snowmelt today could refreeze overnight, leading some patchy areas of black ice. Lows fall to the mid 20s. Friday: Warmer day ahead, with partly cloudy skies. Highs top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Weekend forecast: The warming trend will continue into the weekend with highs in the 50s on Saturday. Rainfall is most likely between Saturday night and Sunday, particularly in areas south of the Interstate 74 corridor. Expect lighter rainfall in the northern parts of the state. The system is expected to bring only rain, with no snow or mixed precipitation expected. Total accumulation is expected to range from 0.25 to 0.75 inches in southern counties. Warmer next week: Temperatures are forecast to reach near 60 degrees by Wednesday. This sustained warmth will further weaken river ice across Central Indiana. ...read more read less
