INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Temperatures turn briefly colder for the back half of the week.
Wednesday:
Colder air has moved into the state following a cold front pushing through Tuesday night. The day will be breezy at times with mostly sunny skies in wester
n Indiana and partly cloudy skies in the east. High temperatures are forecast to range from the mid-30s in the northeast to the mid-40s in the southwest.
Tonight:
Tonight will see increasing clouds late with lows dropping into the lower to mid-20s.
Late week:
Temperatures will remain seasonable or slightly above normal on Thursday and Friday as the region experiences plenty of dry time. This warm-up continues into Saturday, when many spots are expected to reach near 50 degrees or the lower 50s. Clouds will begin to increase late Saturday afternoon.
Rain chances this weekend?
The best chance for rain arrives Saturday night and continues into Sunday. While the northern extent of the steady rain remains questionable, current models suggest heavier totals will stay south of the Ohio River.
Warmer next week:
Once the weekend system moves out, the focus will move to even warmer temperatures next week. Numbers will jump to the mid/upper 50s for the holiday, and we could see a string of 60s potentially for the middle of the week.
Looking even deeper, while a cool down is likely by late week next week, the next 2-week stretch looks to remain above average again the seasonal high temps.
