Dozens of concerned parents from the Radnor Township School District showed up on Tuesday night to voice their concerns over the use of AI-generated images shared by students. These concerns were raised after minors were charged with harassment by the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office following an investigation over non-consensual AI-generated images that were shared in December of last year. During the public comments section of the meeting on Feb. 10, parents demanded that the district revisit and change its policies surrounding the use of these images and content. we believe the policy should require immediate action,” said Luciana Librandi, a mother of one the impacted students. “Once a principal or staff is alerted.” Concerned parents also said that the district should take action even if the content is created on their campus, and that education about the drawbacks of AI should be taught to students as well. “There’s a dark side to it all, and kids need to be made aware,” said Carley Boyd, who knows the families impacted and has children herself.
