Burst pipes at several SEPTA stations cause water and ice to fill walkways

Water was pouring out onto the sidewalk and street in front of the entrance to the SEPTA station at Kensington and Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.

NBC10 was on the scene around 5:30 p.m. to see water raining down
from the Market-Frankford Line platform.
A spokesperson for SEPTA explained that a pipe burst from the station causing it to leak below onto the ground.
Water to the pipe was shut off and crews are working to clean up the area, officials explained.
No SEPTA delays have been announced and traffic was still moving on the roadway.
Elsewhere, a Philadelphia Water Department pipe that burst on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, has caused a section of the Tasker-Morris SEPTA station to freeze over, an official told NBC10.
We were on the scene on Tuesday evening to see damage.
No SEPTA delays or cancelations have been announced due to the two incidents.
