The Inland boys athlete of the week: Name: Ashton Lassig School: Temecula Valley Sport: Wrestling Year: Senior Noteworthy: Lassig, who wrestles at 175 pounds, started the week by pinning his opponent in the first period of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 dual-meet championship match. Lassig’s win helped the Golden Bears cruise to a 49-15 victory over Victor Valley, bringing the program its 19th section title in the dual-meet format. Then, at the Southwestern League finals, Lassig pinned both of his opponents — in a combined time of 1:54 — to win his fourth individual league championship. He is the No. 5-ranked 175-pounder in the state by both the Cal Grapper and California Wrestler websites.
