A soggy and mild Tuesday ahead
Feb 10, 2026
Mild and possibly foggy morning
Tuesday morning begins cool and calm. Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s, with clear skies and calm winds.
All of the ingredients for fog are there, so we may see some forming in low-lying areas and valleys. It doesn’t appear that fog will be a widespread issue,
and it shouldn’t impact the morning commute.
Rain chances and temperatures ramp up
A cold front surging across the Midwest will dive through the commonwealth Tuesday evening. Winds will gust up to 25 mph out of the SW, bringing temperatures into the 50s and 60s.
Cloud cover builds through the day out ahead of the front, with a few sprinkles possible through the afternoon. More robust rain chances don’t move in until the evening.
A line of showers and maybe even a few rumbles of thunder will move SE across the Bluegrass, with heavy rainfall possible at times. Rainfall totals up to a quarter of an inch are expected. Rain will help to melt away some of the snow and ice.
High pressure builds Wednesday and Thursday
Rain clears out overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. As temperatures dive back into the 20s and 30s, a few flurries could be possible, especially towards far eastern KY. Little impact is expected, but we will want to watch for refreezing on roadways as leftover puddles and snowmelt turn back into ice.
Daytime high temperatures will return to the 40s, close to average. Cloud cover is expected to stick around through the end of the week.
Active end of the week ahead
Another system looks to move through Friday, kicking off an active weather pattern that lasts through Valentine’s weekend. This will bring rain chances for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Sunday looking to be the soggiest.
Luckily, trends show a calmer President’s Day and start to next week.
Temperatures stay average through the weekend.
