(KRON) -- Football fans watched the Super Bowl on Sunday, while the world watched Bad Bunny. Millions tuned in for the record-breaking Super Bowl Halftime Show.
In the buildup to Sunday's game, KRON4 spoke to several people who weren’t interested in watching the game but said they planned on tuni
ng in for Bad Bunny.
The singer used his 13 minutes to perform and represent his home island of Puerto Rico. From the star-powered appearances of Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, to the 500-plus extras, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at Super Bowl 60 made an impact.

San Francisco violinist Rose Crelli will never forget her opportunity to join the show and perform next to the headliner.
“The absolute coolest," said Crelli. "I think it was the most viewed halftime show in Super Bowl history with over 134 million views, which is absolutely incredible.”
Weeks before the halftime show even started, the performance was dubbed "Benito Bowl." It’s why Ish Ruiz organized a Super Bowl viewing party in San Francisco.
“There were a lot of moments where we were all dancing and singing, everyone knows every word to the songs," said Ruiz. "You could barely hear him because everyone was singing with him.”
Ruiz grew up in Puerto Rico and saw moment after moment of the island being highlighted, like the electrical poles that symbolized the unreliable power grid in Puerto Rico and frequent blackouts.
“So Bad Bunny has song called 'El Apagon,' which means 'the blackout,' which is what he was singing when he was standing on top of the power lines which means there is a blackout but our music still here,” said Ruiz.

Ruiz says Bad Bunny reclaimed what it means to be American.
From the football he held that said “Together, We Are American," to the message that the only thing more powerful than hate is love, the performance was unforgettable for the millions watching at home and performers by Bad Bunny’s side.
“As an immigrant myself I really appreciated how this whole halftime show was about empowering immigrants to be proud of their culture," said Crelli. "To be proud of speaking their language. To be bilingual.”
Bad Bunny never made a direct political statement during his performance Sunday, but at the Grammy Awards a week prior, he did speak out against ICE during his acceptance speech for Album of the Year.
