Diplo surprises with popup set inside SF Mission District restaurant

(KRON) -- The San Francisco Bay Area hosting Super Bowl LX has brought a week-long boom of local business across the region. One of them is a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco's Mission District.
It definitely helps when one of the world's most popular DJs appears at your establishment.

erformed a set at La Corneta Taqueria on Saturday, the restaurant posted on its social media. The pop-up came a day after the world-renowned music producer headlined a show with Calvin Harris at Pier 80 in San Francisco.
Super Bowl LX in SF Bay Area: Live game day updates
Diplo was one of many to headline a concert in the Bay Area for Super Bowl week. The region hosted more than 30 shows over a three-day span, from Thursday to Saturday.
According to a video posted on Diplo's Instagram story, to cater to the Bay Area crowd, he played a song by a Bay Area legendary rapper. A remix of Too $hort's "Blow The Whistle" was among the songs played in his set.
A snippet of the surprise set showed Diplo playing Bad Bunny's music, getting the packed restaurant crowd ready for the Super Bowl halftime show.

Diplo performs in front of a sold-out Pier 80 in San Francisco on Friday, Feb. 6. The DJ was followed by Calvin Harris in a Super Bowl week concert organized by NPU Live.
Diplo, whose full name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, was notably in San Francisco last October to host his annual 5K race dubbed "Diplo's Run Club."
