(BCN) -- A woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Hayward on Saturday morning. The victim, who police said was in her 30s or 40s, was hit at about 6:40 a.m. near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and B Street. The driver was identified in a statement from the Hayward Police Department a s a 56-year-old Hayward man. He stopped at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Intoxication was not believed to be a factor, according to police. The victim died from her injuries after being taken to a hospital. The death marks Hayward's first traffic related fatality of 2026, according to the Hayward Police Department.
