Waukegan police shot and killed a man who attempted suicide Saturday afternoon. Three officers responded to a call around 3 p.m. in the 1000 block of Leith Avenue for a person "who had attempted to commit suicide," Waukegan Police said in a news release.The shooting victim was a 58-year-old Waukegan man. First responders provided aid, but he died at the scene, according to police.
