Lawrence wrestling’s Steven Ham ties school record with 119th career win
Feb 07, 2026
LAWRENCE TWP. — Undefeated 132-pounder Steven Ham continued to make history for the Lawrence High wrestling team on Saturday when he tied the school record for career wins at 119 in a tri-meet on the Cardinals’ home mats.
Ham got his day started when he won by technical fall in Lawrence’s 63-9
romp over Notre Dame. Ham then recorded his 119th victory with a major decision in his team’s 40-32 loss to Eastern.
A winner at this year’s Colonial Valley Conference Championships, Ham is now 31-0 on the season and tied with Michael Jennings for the most wins in the history of the program.
In his 119th win, he defeated Eastern’s Jayden Jardine, 15-4. This is a particularly impressive score when you consider last year Ham had his hands full in a 17-15 win over Jardine.
Other than Ham’s milestones, there was just not a whole lot to report about the tri meet at Lawrence.
In the first match of the day, Lawrence crushed Notre Dame, 62-9. Although the sectional-bound Cardinals were going to win anyway, it was a match in which very little of note happened as Notre Dame held out two of its top wrestlers (Jake Mulray and Joey Bonko) to avoid them surpassing their bout limits.
In the second match of the day, Eastern destroyed Notre Dame. The tri meet then concluded with Eastern’s win over Lawrence, which left the Cardinal with a record of 15-10.
Lawrence pinners against Notre Dame included Saran Siva, Justin Ciemis, Jediah Caesar, Vinny Zimmaro and CVC Tournament 190-pound champion James Lyons. Against Eastern, Lawrence got pins by Edwin Urias, Caesar and heavyweight Zane Spencer,
Ham will attempt to break the school record for wins when Lawrence hosts undefeated Manville on Wednesday night.
