Maxim Naumov is ready for his Olympic debut. The 24-year-old figure skater, who grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut, and later moved to Norwood, Massachusetts, will compete at Milan Cortina with a heavy heart. Last year, Naumov’s parents — Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova — died in the Po tomac River plane crash as they were heading to Washington, D.C., while flying back from the U.S. championships. They were world champion figure skaters in 1994, inspiring their son to pursue the sport as his career.
