Man dies in overnight rowhome fire in Philly's Kingsessing neighborhood

A man has died, officials said, after being pulled from an overnight rowhome fire in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood.
According to fire officials, first responders were called to a fire at a two-story rowhome along the 5400 block of Regent Street in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighbo
rhood at about 1:39 a.m. on Wednesday to find heavy smoke pouring from the second floor of the property.
At that time, firefighters pulled an injured man from the building and he was taken to a nearby hospital, but officials said, the man was pronounced shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
Fire officials did not immediately provide further identifying information in the man who died in the the morning fire.
However, four other people who were in the home when the fire began were able to make it out of the property safely, officials said.
Fire crews were able to put the fire under control about 22 minutes after they arrived at the scene, officials said.
Fire officials did not provide information on what may have caused the deadly fire. But, they said, an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
