StormTracker8: Rain/Snow mix tonight; light snow Wednesday
Feb 03, 2026
Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- We will have a rain snow mixture across Central Virginia for this evening and tonight. Our overnight lows will fall to near 30. We are not expecting much in the way of accumulation from that rain snow mixture tonight.
Wednesday will start off cloudy and another area of moi
sture will slide over the region and with temperatures marginally cold enough, we could be looking at light snow or snow showers across Central Virginia with some mixed rain showers to our south and southeast. Our high temperatures on Wednesday will peak at nearly 35.
There is a chance that many could pick up about a dusting to an inch of accumulation across Central Virginia, but our roadways should stay okay because of the amount of salt and sand on them and the fact that we will see some rain showers tonight.
Partly sunny skies will return for Thursday with highs in the upper 30s.
A weak weather system will approach the region on Friday and before that approaches we will see our temperatures climb to near 40. As that system moves through there is the chance for a few light snow showers in the latter part of the afternoon and evening.
Behind that system it will turn cooler for the weekend with partly sunny skies for both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the middle 30s.
Looking ahead to the early part of next week we should see sunny skies for Monday and Tuesday with highs around 40 on Monday and in the upper 40s for Tuesday.
Another system will approach the region on Wednesday, bringing us clouds and showers with highs in the upper 40s.
