The Park City Police Department in late January received a report of what was described as a “large blast” in the area of Lowell Avenue and Empire Avenue. The report was logged at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31. The sound was heard at 7 a.m., the police were told. The person who contacted the p olice indicated the sound may have emanated from a construction project. The police logged the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter. Other incidents reported to the Police Department recently included: On Sunday, Feb. 1, at 4:45 p.m., a German shepherd was reported to be “barking constantly” for several hours on Little Kate Road. The police were told the noise was an ongoing issue. The police at 11:08 a.m received a report of a hit-and-run traffic accident. The victim’s vehicle was on Deer Valley Drive at the time of the report to the police, but it was not clear from the logs where the damage occurred and whether it occurred inside the Park City limits. The damage was seen several days prior to the police report. On Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11:24 p.m., a case logged as suspected disorderly conduct was reported at a Main Street restaurant-bar. On Friday, Jan. 30, at 6:07 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on Main Street. The police were told the suspect was driving a black Ford Expedition while the victim’s vehicle is an unspecified Honda model. On Thursday, Jan. 29, at 11:45 p.m., an officer pulled over a driver in the area of Kearns Boulevard and Cooke Drive after observing the headlights were not illuminated. Public police logs did not provide details about whether the driver received a ticket or a warning. A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 2:31 p.m. on Norfolk Avenue. The damage occurred between a little bit before noon and 1 p.m., the police were told. An unrelated hit-and-run accident was reported in the area of Empire Avenue and Captain Molly Drive at 2:03 p.m. A hit-and-run traffic accident, meanwhile, was reported at 11:19 a.m. on Woodside Avenue. The police were told a truck hit a parked vehicle. A police officer at 1:29 a.m. contacted a person seen sleeping in the front seat of a vehicle on Sidewinder Drive. The person told the police he was driving for a rideshare firm and “was just taking a nap between rides,” according to public police logs. On Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 3:16 a.m., a suspected intoxication case was reported on Marsac Avenue. Public police logs did not provide details. On Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 9:52 a.m., an officer pulled over a driver in the area of Kearns Boulevard and Round Valley Drive after an issue at a stoplight. Public police logs indicated a driver remained “in the turn lane after the light turned red then backed up rather than proceeding through the light.” Public police logs did not indicate whether the driver received a ticket or a warning. On Monday, Jan. 26, at 9 p.m., a fight was reported on a bus in the area of Park Avenue and 7th Street. Public police logs did not provide details about the confrontation.
