Park City police log moose reports, including animal near tennis courts

The Park City Police Department received a series of reports of moose sightings in late January and early February.
Some of the sightings were reported in the vicinity of one another, making it possible that the same animal was seen in several of the reports.
The Park City area provides habit
at for moose, and sightings are regularly logged by the Police Department.
Some of the recent reports included:
On Sunday, Feb.1, at 2:27 p.m., a moose, described as young, was reported to be in a park in the area of Wyatt Earp Way.
On Friday, Jan. 30, at 5:16 p.m., a moose, described as young, was reported in the area of Comstock Drive and Ina Avenue.
On Jan. 30 at 8:45 a.m., a moose, described as a “baby,” was seen close to the road along Sidewinder Drive. The animal was seen close to a business.
On Thursday, Jan. 29, at 6:59 p.m., a moose was reportedly seen close to the City Park tennis courts. The police were told the animal was not aggressive. The person told the police they were “scared” the moose would “hurt someone.” The person indicated “someone needs to come and watch it,” according to public police logs.
On Jan. 29 at 7:27 a.m., meanwhile, a wildlife issue involving an unspecified species was reported on Prospector Avenue.
Police officers who respond to moose and other wildlife sightings typically attempt to ensure the safety of the animals, drivers and people in the area of the animals.
