A former superintendent of Evanston/Skokie School District 65 was arrested on assault charges in Georgia, records show.Devon Horton, who was at the center of a federal indictment alleging a kickback scheme last year, was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, strangulation and a misdemea nor count of cruelty to children in the third degree, court records from DeKalb County, Georgia, show. In January, Horton was arrested after police responded to a domestic call at his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Police said an argument between Horton and his wife turned physical, leading to the assault charge.Horton's bond was set at more than $27,000 and was posted, according to court records.Horton's attorney didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
