(KRON) -- A teenage boy was shot and killed Sunday in San Jose, just north of downtown Campbell, according to authorities. The 17-year-old’s death marks the city’s first homicide of 2026. The San Jose Police Department responded at 4:48 p.m. to a business parking lot in the 1500 block of Winche ster Boulevard on the report of a shooting. Arriving officers located the 17-year-old boy suffering from at least one gunshot wound, SJPD said. The teen was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Authorities have not yet released the boy’s identity. Circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are under investigation, police said. No further details were immediately available.
