Marcus’ 5 a.m. Monday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A couple of snow chances early this week could make for some slick commutes to work and school.
Monday:
A quick disturbance moving through this morning will squeeze out some light snow, showers, and flurries across central and northe
rn Indiana. Accumulations will be very light but enough to make things slick as we head into work or school for our Monday morning.
Meanwhile, high temperatures will be the warmest they have been in about a week and a half, with highs hitting the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Tuesday snow:
Mostly cloudy skies for much of the overnight hours as another system will move across the Midwest.
Steady snow showers move in before the morning drive. This will be more widespread compared to snow on Monday.
The heaviest snow is likely going to be in the southern half of Central Indiana, where a quick one to two inches will be possible, the bulk of which could fall during the morning commute on Tuesday.
By the afternoon hours were again cloudy with high temperatures hovering around 30°.
Cold hangs around:
Another round of Arctic air will settle in, although not as intense as what we’ve had to experience the last week. We will be running about 10 to 15° colder than normal for Wednesday and Thursday, as high temperatures only hit the low to mid 20s and overnight lows could slip to the single digits.
There will be some isolated snow chances also in place for Friday, which could be our first day going above freezing since January 22. That warm-up will be short-lived, however, as colder temperatures settle in for this upcoming weekend and high temperatures only hit the low to mid 20s.
The cold air also looks set to remain locked in for a while; there are some signs of warming. The pattern may flip around the 10th. The 8-14 day temperature outlook shows warmer-than-average temps for the first time in a while!
