There’s a new reason “K-Pop Demon Hunters” fans might be referring to the film as “Golden.” The film took home the Grammy Award for best song written for visual media during the 68th Grammy Awards for the anthem track, “Golden.” Ejae, Park Hong Jun, Joong Gyu Kwak, Yu Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam, Jeong Hoon Seo and Mark Sonnenblick took to the stage to accept the award at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The film was so popular that it also received a limited theatrical release of the sing-along version from Aug. 23-4 and again from Oct. 31-Nov. 2. Additionally, the movie’s main characters, Rumi, Mira and Zoey, were some of the most popular Halloween costumes last year, with Rumi’s signature purple braid making the group costume easy to spot. Besides the award-winning song “Golden,” the film has other notable numbers, including “Soda Pop,” which is performed by the Saja Boys, a BTS-like fictional K-Pop group. In addition to being the singing voice of Rumi, Ejae also serves as a songwriter some of the film’s tracks, “Golden,” “How It’s Done” and “Your Idol.” So far, the film and “Golden” have made Ejae a Golden Globe Awards winner as well as an Academy Awards Nominee. The 68th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Crypto.com Arena and the show begins at 5 p.m. Pacific on CBS and Paramount Plus.
