“K-Pop Demon Hunters” was first released on Netflix on June 20, 2025, and became a massive success for the streaming service. The film was so popular that it also received a limited theatrical release of the sing-along version from Aug. 23-4 and again from Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
Additionally, the movie’s main characters, Rumi, Mira and Zoey, were some of the most popular Halloween costumes last year, with Rumi’s signature purple braid making the group costume easy to spot.
Besides the award-winning song “Golden,” the film has other notable numbers, including “Soda Pop,” which is performed by the Saja Boys, a BTS-like fictional K-Pop group.
In addition to being the singing voice of Rumi, Ejae also serves as a songwriter some of the film’s tracks, “Golden,” “How It’s Done” and “Your Idol.” So far, the film and “Golden” have made Ejae a Golden Globe Awards winner as well as an Academy Awards Nominee.
The 68th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Crypto.com Arena and the show begins at 5 p.m. Pacific on CBS and Paramount Plus.
