St. Paul police investigating fatal Saturday shooting

St. Paul police officers are investigating the fatal shooting of one person, the department said on X.
Officers responded at approximately 2:25 p.m. Saturday to the 900 block of York Avenue in St. Paul on a report of someone shot, according to a news release from the St. Paul police department.
At t
he scene, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators with St. Paul police are working to determine what led to the shooting and who is responsible. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the identity of the victim and his cause of death.
This is the first homicide of the year in St. Paul.
After six years of homicides numbering at least 30 in St. Paul, the city tallied 15 homicides last year. The first homicide of 2025 occurred in the last week of February.
