Lake Worth police chief retires after 22 years of public service

The Lake Worth police chief is retiring from law enforcement, effective Friday, Jan. 30.
J.T. Manoushagian, who has served the public for 22 years, originally announced his retirement on Nov. 19, 2025, through a statement posted on X.
Manoushagian is a United States Navy veteran, serving in bo
th the enlisted and officer ranks (E-1 through O-3). He also serves on the board of directors for Alliance for Children, a child advocacy center serving the greater Tarrant area, according to his bio on the Lake Worth Police Department command staff website.
Friday morning, Manoushagian posted another statement on X, noting that he will hand off the account to the next Chief of Police after Jan. 30.
In his statement, he thanked the community, his colleagues and his family.
The Lake Worth police Department has not yet announced who the new police chief will be.
