Brutally cold temperatures hit the Philadelphia region on Friday and the frigid conditions will continue through the weekend. A FIRST ALERT is in effect for the entire area until Saturday morning due to wind chills that are making temperatures feel below zero. Sub-zero wind chills hit the Philadelphia region early Friday morning. Those wind chills will make conditions feel in the single digits throughout the day. The bitter cold continues on Saturday with early morning temperatures once again in the single digits before a slight warmup to the lower 20s. The frigid temperatures will continue Sunday with highs in the mid-20s as well as a coastal system that will bring gusty winds to the Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches Sunday morning. There is a slight chance for light snow along the coast on Sunday but there wouldn’t be much accumulation. We’ll see a slight warmup on Monday with highs in the low 30s and sunny skies. Our best chance to break the freezing mark will be Tuesday with highs in the mid-30s and mostly sunny skies.
