ALLENTOWN — For the first time in program history, the Allentown boys basketball team is a division champion. Frank Varricchio scored 24 points, Nick Pless added 11, and the Redbirds completed a 6-0 run in the CVC’s Valley Division with a 62-54 win Thursday night against Princeton Day School. Al lentown (9-8) rallied after trailing by 14 points at halftime and outscored PDS (5-10) in the fourth quarter, 21-6. Allentown has already surpassed its win total from last season (six) and is searching for its first winning record since finishing 7-5 in the COVID-shortened season of 2020-21. The Redbirds’ best season under seventh-year head coach Walter Kelly came in 2019-20 (21-7). Lawrence 60, Steinert 50 HAMILTON — Michael Carrick poured in 26 points, Marvin McNeill added 10 and the Cardinals (13-5) used a 21-11 run in the third quarter to beat the Spartans (4-13) for their sixth straight victory. Thomas Ditta put in 18 points to lead Steinert. Hamilton West 56, WW-PS 52 HAMILTON — Luke Radoslovich scored 20 points to help rally the Hornets (6-10) from an eight-point halftime deficit and past the Pirates (1-18). Jackson O’Connor led South with 16 points. Hightstown 52, Princeton 36 HIGHTSTOWN — Caden Mamone scored 15 points, Jaden Lawrence added 11 and the Rams (10-11) pulled away from the Tigers (6-12).
