Coroner identifies victim in deadly stabbing

UPDATE: Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn says the victim in Thursday’s fatal stabbing is Walter P. Barnes, Jr. of Lexington. According to the coroner, Barnes died from sharp force injuries about 1:45 p.m. Barnes was found in his home, where he had been stabbed.

LEXINGTON, Ky.
(ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police are investigating a homicide after a man was found stabbed to death inside a home Thursday afternoon.
According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Maywick View Lane around 1 p.m. for a death investigation. When they arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name.
