UPDATE: Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn says the victim in Thursday’s fatal stabbing is Walter P. Barnes, Jr. of Lexington. According to the coroner, Barnes died from sharp force injuries about 1:45 p.m. Barnes was found in his home, where he had been stabbed. ORIGINAL STORY: LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police are investigating a homicide after a man was found stabbed to death inside a home Thursday afternoon. According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Maywick View Lane around 1 p.m. for a death investigation. When they arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name. Investigators are asking anyone with information that could help in the case to contact the Lexington Police Department at (859) 258-3600.
