A couple in Arlington had a big surprise as the winter storm blew in. Mia Lanning had a routine appointment, but unexpectedly delivered her daughter the next morning. Baby Elowyn needed to stay in the hospital a bit longer for some extra care. The mom was discharged, but with the winter weathe r making driving tricky, she worried about when and how she’d get back to her baby. “I told her your healing and your daughter are what matter most right now. Everything else we can handle,” OB/GYN Manager Kerrie Eyler said in a news release sent to NBC 5. “I remember crying and Kerrie giving me a hug, just the relief I felt, I knew that if we left, we probably wouldn’t be able to come back for a few days because of how bad the weather was,” Mia Lanning said in the release. The team at Medical City Arlington found a way for Mia, Clark Lanning, and their baby girl to be together. The couple stayed in a hospital room at no cost until they chose to return home this week.
