Was the ICE agent who killed Renee Good struck by her car, as Sen. Markwayne Mullin claimed?
Jan 29, 2026
No.
While footage from Jonathan Ross’s cellphone has been cited as evidence that he was hit by Good’s vehicle, multiple analyses of footage from different angles indicate that Ross was not in the vehicle’s path, nor was he run over, when he fired multiple shots.
Before the sho
oting, Ross crossed in front of Good’s vehicle as it reversed to leave. In his footage, Good can be seen turning her steering wheel to the right, away from Ross, before the camera jerks sideways, then towards the sky. There’s an audible thud before Ross fires.
Synchronized footage reveals that the camera jerk and thud are caused by Ross unholstering his gun and placing his left hand and phone on Good’s vehicle, respectively, rather than from being hit.
The growing gap between an upright Ross and the car as he continued shooting showed that no direct hit occurred, though it’s uncertain whether his upper body made some contact.
