The chances of Davis Webb becoming the Broncos’ offensive coordinator have become more likely. A source said Broncos’ passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach withdrew Thursday as a candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching job. Davis had two interviews for the job, but the Raiders reportedly are now zeroing in on Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Denver coach Sean Payton fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi on Tuesday, prompting plenty of speculation that Webb could end up as his replacement. The Broncos began the interview process for the job on Thursday by talking to Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry. However, Webb might now be the leading candidate for the job. Curry was a wide receiver with the Oakland Raiders from 2002-08. He has been an NFL assistant coach since 2014 with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints and Bills. Curry served under Payton when he was with the Saints. That included being an offensive assistant from 2016-17, wide receivers coach from 2018-20 and quarterbacks coach in 2021. After Payton left the Saints, Curry was their quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator from 2022-23. He then spent 2024 with the Bills. Curry’s interview counts as one of the two the Broncos must have with diversity candidates as required by the NFL’s Rooney Rule. Webb had received interest to interview for offensive coordinator jobs with the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants. However, the Eagles on Thursday hired former NFL quarterback Sean Mannion, who was the Green Bay Packers’ quarterbacks coach in 2025. If Webb is to end up as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator, it remains to be seen how Payton would handle play-calling. Payton has called offensive plays for Denver since he arrived in 2023. Kubiak is the son of longtime Broncos quarterback, offensive coordinator and head coach Gary Kubiak. Klint Kubiak was a Broncos offensive assistant from 2016-18 and their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2022. Also Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens expressed interest in interviewing Broncos defensive pass game coordinator and assistant head coach Jim Leonhard for defensive coordinator. Broncos sign 4, to add Robinson The Broncos signed four players Thursday to futures contracts and another is expected to officially be signed Friday. The Broncos announced the signings of tackle Marques Cox, center Michael Dieter, guard Nash Jones and defensive tackle Kristian Williams to deals. A source said cornerback Jaden Robinson also is signing and is expected to be on Friday’s transactions report. Robinson spent all of 2025 on the Broncos’ practice squad as a rookie after being undrafted out of Oregon State and wasn’t elevated for any games. Cox, Dieter and Jones all spent time in 2025 on the Broncos’ practice squad but weren’t on it at the end of the season. Williams was with them in training camp before being hurt and an injury settlement was reached. Robinson’s signing will make 12 players to have been locked up to futures deals for Denver since Monday. Perry joins Steelers Wide receiver A.T. Perry, who spent the past two seasons on the Broncos’ practice squad, signed a futures deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After spending most of 2024 and all of 2025 on Denver’s practice squad, Perry wasn’t elevated for any games. He hasn’t played in an NFL regular-season game since 2023, when he caught 12 passes for 246 yards in 10 games as a Saints rookie. Perry was slowed last year when he suffered a broken right ankle in spring drills and began training camp on the physically unable to perform list until being activated Aug. 12. However, he was passed over in the regular season and playoffs when the Broncos had six total elevations of wide receivers. Michael Bandy was elevated to play in three games during the regular season and had one playoff elevation while being inactive. Elijah Moore had two playoff elevations, being inactive for one and playing in last Sunday’s 10-7 loss to New England in the AFC Championship Game. “Coaches are always talking to me and telling me how bad they want me here and how they want to develop me as a player and everything,” Perry had told The Denver Gazette while on the practice squad last September, shortly before the regular-season opener. Now, though, he is heading to Pittsburgh. ...read more read less
