Seniors 65 and older will get free admission at the Safari Park in February
Jan 29, 2026
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is waiving the entrance fee for all visitors aged 65 and older in February, part of an annual special offer.
Last year, 40,000 seniors took advantage of free admission at the park in San Pasqual Valley near Escondido.
When the February freebie isn’t in effect, a one-d
ay pass typically costs $78. Visitors also can purchase a “value day” pass for $73 that is valid on select dates.
This year, the park is offering visitors a special mobility map that highlights where wheelchair and scooter rentals can be found, along with accessible pedestrian paths, categorized by difficulty levels.
Safari Park also offers an accessibility shuttle for guests who need mobility assistance while on the grounds. The shuttle can accommodate visitors who use wheelchairs or mobility devices and runs on a continuous loop, with stops at Park Base and Okavango Outpost.
“Visitors can immerse themselves in the Safari Park’s vast 1,800-acre landscape, home to over 3,000 animals representing more than 300 species, alongside a botanical collection featuring over 1.3 million plants,” the park said in a news release. “This unique experience provides educational opportunities and unforgettable moments for all ages.”
To take advantage of the special “Seniors Free Month,” visitors need to present a valid photo ID at the park’s entrance.
The free offer doesn’t include parking. Safari Park charges $20 for general parking and $45 for preferred parking. However, adults who hold memberships receive complimentary parking by showing a valid membership card at the parking booth.
