Vallejo inn evacuated due to hazmat incident, involving gallons of meth: officials
Jan 28, 2026
(KRON) -- Vallejo Inn was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a reported hazardous materials incident, according to the Vallejo Fire Department (VFD). Crews were called upon around 1:40 p.m. at the establishment on Tennessee Street.
Fire personnel discovered a five-gallon bucket with, at the time,
an unidentified substance. Out of precaution, the inn was evacuated to "ensure the safety of occupants."
The bucket was later discovered and confirmed to be filled with methamphetamine by the Solano County Hazardous Materials Team, VFD said.
VFD said there is no threat to the public at this time. All roadways have reopened, but crews remain on scene to safely dispose of the "hazardous material," according to VFD.

Vallejo police also received a call about an unknown substance in one of the inn's rooms, a public information officer tells KRON4. Police called fire crews and a hazmat team out of precaution -- before the substance was ultimately identified as meth.
Also in the North Bay on Wednesday afternoon, a substance leak in Santa Rosa prompted a shelter-in-place order.
