Question: I was glad to read about the city’s upcoming pilot project that will collect food waste in the green carts for composting (808ne.ws/45xLl6R), but the flaw I see — which I predict will depress participation — is that they are telling us to place our kitchen scraps loose in the green c art. They’re saying no bags in the green cart. Why not allow compostable bags that we can close tightly, to keep away flies, rats and other vermin, and to reduce odor? ...read more read less
