The owner of the popular Avondale restaurant Warlord was in court Monday, where he was served with an order of protection — his second in about a year involving a female co-worker — after being accused of sharing sexual images of a former girlfriend and colleague without her consent. Trevor B. Fleming, 41, was charged with nonconsensual dissemination of a sexual image, a felony, records show. He was arrested Jan. 17. Fleming couldn't be reached by phone and wasn't at the restaurant at 3198 N. Milwaukee Ave. Monday evening for comment, according to a manager who took a reporter's business card. During a Monday hearing in domestic violence court, a judge approved an order of protection for the accuser, marking the second order of protection Fleming has been served with from former female co-workers in about a year, court records show. Both women spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times Monday. They are not being named because they are concerned for their safety. Trevor FlemingProvided Fleming is accused of sharing private sexual images without consent in September 2023. The images "clearly show" the woman's face and private areas during a sexual act, records show. Records also showed the accuser is "fearful of the respondent, of possible further abuse," and there is a past history of verbal and emotional abuse. They met on the app Tinder in 2019 and began dating. She also began working for Fleming, helping with design work on the restaurant. They had an on-and-off "toxic" relationship, which was sexually, emotionally and mentally “abusive," she told the Sun-Times. After she broke the relationship off for the last time in the fall of 2023, Fleming sent her a photograph of them having sex, asking if she would instead be interested in a physical relationship. “It creeped me out and made me really, really scared,” she said, especially because she didn’t know he had taken that photo.Several months later, around July 2024, other women began contacting the accuser alleging that Fleming had sent them private sexual images, including videos, of her. “I was so terrified,” she said. “I’m like, 'What is happening?'" she said. "What are these videos?"In court Monday, she said she felt anxious seeing Fleming, even over a video monitor. “It’s kind of creepy that he could hear my voice,’’ she said. She said she feels relieved that she went to the authorities and feels a “sense of justice."“It’s a weird feeling. ... This affects someone’s life.”Another woman who was also a co-worker of Fleming's and dated him was granted an order of protection against him in early 2025; it remains in effect until 2027, court records show. After they broke up, the second accuser ran into Fleming in January of 2025 when she was walking her neighbor's dog, the records show. “Trevor was startled and started yelling at me saying: ‘What the f— are you doing here, you b - - - - ?” according to the order of protection. Fleming accused her of “stalking” him and grabbed her by the scarf. “He was choking me with it,” the order said. “He put his face up to mine and said, “I’m going to beat your a - - ,” according to the order. Fleming allegedly slapped her phone out of her hands and continued to threaten her, saying: ‘I’ll be happy when you’re dead,”' the order alleged. "I'm going to take something from you and you'll know it," he also allegedly told her, according to the order. Fleming has verbally threatened her multiple times in the past, the order alleged. The second accuser filed a police report and the order of protection was granted, in place until March 11, 2027. In spring 2023, Warlord opened in a nondescript Avondale storefront with little of the typical branding, advertising or social media fanfare. Inside, the room was dark, and the big hearth was central and hot. It didn’t take diners long to find the spot, and they queued up for the “live fire” concept — mostly grilled meats, fish and seasonal produce grilled to order. Lines sometimes wound down the street because reservations weren’t accepted.Later that year, Esquire placed the restaurant on its list of the 50 “best new” eateries in America, praising the late-night destination spot’s status “for the industry, by the industry,” in reference to the impressive resumes of the trio of founding chefs (Fleming, Emily Kraszyk and John Lupton).
