IU wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. declares for NFL draft, ESPN insider says

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A third Indiana University football player has declared for the NFL draft, sources told ESPN Insider Peter Thamel Monday.
IU wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. is now the fifth player from the CFP National Championship game to declare.
The others include Fernando Mendo
za and D’Angelo Ponds from IU, and Miami’s Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa.
Thamel reports that the NFL received Cooper’s notice on Saturday, a day after the Jan. 23 deadline.
Cooper, a Lawrence North High School graduate, completed the 2025 season with 69 receptions and 13 touchdowns.
He was the team leader for receiving yards at 937 for the season, 207 of those gained during IU’s Sept. 12 game against Indiana State University.
