A suspect has been identified in the shooting near a Meridian McDonald's that left one man dead.According to the Meridian Police Department, the incident was initially reported to Ada County Dispatch by multiple 911 callers at a
pproximately 12:39 p.m. on Sunday, January 25. Streat has now been charged with felony second-degree murder.The shooting was determined to be an isolated event. "There is no ongoing threat to the public," Meridian Police said.Meridian Police report that Streat fired at the victim roughly a dozen times.When Meridian Police and medical personnel from the Meridian Fire Department and Ada County Paramedics arrived, the 27-year-old victim had succumbed to his injuries.Neighborhood Reporter Victoria Rodriguez was at the scene, near 195 E Corporate, and reported seeing the covered body of the victim. The witness claims to have checked the deceased individual's pulse before witnessing the man who shot the victim call 911. The witness says they are unable to access their car as part of the crime scene.MPD has released that there were multiple witnesses and sources of video evidence."The loss of life is a tragic event, and the sensitivity of such an investigation is paramount as we conduct this investigation," MPD said. The identity of the victim will be released by the Ada County Coroner's Office at a later time.Streat is set to be arraigned in court on Monday, January 26.Authorities believe the incident may have resulted from a road rage incident or a traffic dispute along I-84. The vehicles involved in the shooting are a silver 2023 Toyota Tacoma and a blue 2009 Honda Accord.
