CNY Diaper Bank receives truckload of donated diapers
Jan 25, 2026
The CNY Diaper Bank received a donation of more than 250,000 Huggies diapers on Thursday, Jan. 15, as part of a national initiative to mark the 15th anniversary of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) in 2026.
Huggies is donating a total of 15 million diapers to NDBN members in 15 days this Ja
nuary to commemorate the milestone.
Huggies selected the CNY Diaper Bank, among other NDBN members, for the donation based on its high annual distribution numbers.
The donated diapers will make an immediate impact on local families, helping them meet their most basic needs.
The CNY Diaper Bank works with a network of partner agencies to distribute an average of 236,000 diapers to 4,200 local babies and toddlers each month.
The CNY Diaper Bank is the largest diaper bank in New York State, and in 2025, it distributed over 2.8 million diapers to families in need.
Though diapers are an essential need for babies, they are not covered by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or by Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits.
Since an adequate supply of diapers for a single child can cost $100 per month, diapers become an expense many families cannot afford.
The Central New York Diaper Bank is a nonprofit that was created in 2016 to help social service organizations in the Syracuse area distribute diapers to families in need. It is a part of the National Diaper Bank Network.
CNY Diaper Bank’s mission is to ensure that all Central New York families have access to an adequate supply of diapers, and to build awareness of diaper need in our community.
