LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities are looking for a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery that took place Saturday evening at a gas station in Louisa County. Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, a suspect entered the Mineral Express Lane Exxon and demanded money from the regis ter. He was displaying what looked like a handgun at the time, according to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office. When a customer entered the store during the encounter, the suspect -- identified as an older Black man -- exited the business without obtaining any money, authorities said. According to the sheriff's office, he drove away in a silver early-2000s Lincoln Continental, heading onto Mineral Avenue. The car had a Virginia tag with the plate VUG2365. The plate also did not return to the vehicle when searched. The suspect's identity remains unknown as of reporting. The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
