Bundle up, football fans — Colorado’s Front Range and Eastern Plains will stay well below freezing through the weekend, with a dusting of snow likely over Empower Field at Mile High as the Denver Broncos face the New England Patriots for the AFC championship on Sunday. An arctic airmass is expec ted to hang around through Sunday, with high temperatures near 20 degrees and lows in the single digits for most of metro Denver and the Front Range, National Weather Service forecasters said in a hazardous weather outlook. There’s a 60% chance of snow in Denver on Sunday, mostly after 11 a.m., but the storm is expected to drop a half inch or less, forecasters said. Wind gusts could make temperatures feel as cold as 3 below zero. A cold weather advisory is active for stretches of Larimer and Weld counties through Monday morning, noting “dangerously cold wind chills” could send temperatures plummeting to 16 below zero, quickly causing hypothermia or frostbite, forecasters said.
