NBC Bay Area spoke with one of the victims of the carjacking suspect involved in a shootout with the San Jose Police Department Wednesday afternoon. There are still several investigations underway, including how the suspect, 30-year-old Mohamed Husien of Davis, was killed by police after the crim e spree. NBC Bay Area obtained store surveillance video at 7-Eleven on Coleman Avenue. Police believe Husein robbed the store on Sunday just before midnight, days before the final confrontation with police. The owner says there were two robbers. “Very scary. They walk in from the main road and come. One guy has a gun, and one guy has a knife. They show to my employee and open the register. Otherwise, we don’t want to harm you, you know?” Said Neetu Singh, the owner. The night before, police believe Husein also robbed Countryside Liquors on Mckee Road. The owner of that store said he shared his surveillance video with police. Then on Wednesday, that car chase that spanned from San Jose to Hollister and back, involving gunfights with police in both cities. Singh says he’s thankful one of the robbers won’t be coming back. “It’s very scary. Very scary for the guy who works at nighttime. It’s very hard to find employees at nighttime,” Singh said. The intersection where Wednesday’s shootout occurred was finally open Friday. Workers at an adjacent electric car parking lot inspected the inventory, to see if there as any bullet damage to the luxury cars.
