Jan 23, 2026
Park City freeskier Mac Forehand won the Aspen X Games big air gold medal on Friday night at Buttermilk Mountain.
Forehand landed a 2160 jump for a winning score of 96. New Zealand’s Luca Harrington finished in second place and Canada’s Dylan Deschamps in third.
The win is Forehand’s s
econd in Aspen, also winning the big air competition in 2023. Forehand has a third big air medal and three slopestyle medals to his name.
Forehand will compete in Saturday’s ski slopestyle competition in Aspen, starting at 10:30 a.m., alongside fellow Park City freeskiers Alex Hall and Colby Stevenson. He will also be competing in the Milan Olympics’ big air and slopestyle competitions in Livigno next month.
“It feels amazing to do it again,” Forehand said on ESPN following Friday night’s win. “I didn’t think I’d be able to do it again to be honest, but it’s a battle of speed out there today, fortunately I had it. Shoutout to my wax tech Tanner for hooking me up and keeping me fast out there.”
The Aspen X Games action is continuing on Friday night with the snowmobile freestyle competition on ESPN.
