(KRON) — A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking near the intersection of 17th Avenue and El Camino Real in San Mateo Friday. The woman was hit at about 10:30 a.m. and was rushed to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries, the San Mateo Police Department told KRON4 New s. The driver remained at the scene of the crash and spoke with police. “Our department is on scene and will be for the next couple of hours while we process the collision scene,” a spokesperson with San Mateo PD said.
