(KRON) -- After especially struggling to get back on its feet due to the COVID-19 pandemic, San Francisco -- as Mayor Daniel Lurie has said countless times -- is a city on the rise and making a comeback. Perhaps the same can be said for the city's electronic dance music scene. If it ever left, the EDM music scene is back, alive and well in San Francisco. Goldenvoice, the organizers behind the iconic Coachella music festival, and the San Francisco Giants have partnered to bring a series of EDM concerts to Pier 48, a press release announced Thursday. The series, named "Club Darc," features a mix of chart-topping names and up-and-coming artists. The shows will be held at Shed A at Pier 48, a warehouse in San Francisco's Mission Rock neighborhood near Oracle Park that will be converted to a concert venue. They will take place on select weekends starting Friday, Feb. 27 until Saturday, May 16. The first wave of concerts has been released (see below) with more dates and artists to be announced later. "The open warehouse and industrial concept offers full flexibility, with high ceilings, sprawling open-air spaces, and state-of-the-art AV capabilities." Goldenvoice teamed up with the Giants' entrepreneurial subdivision of the baseball organization for this slate of shows. The two parties plan to "transform Shed A at Pier 48 into a premier music destination." “We’re incredibly proud to see Pier 48’s Shed A evolve into a true music destination on SanFrancisco’s waterfront,” said San Francisco Giants Senior Vice President Sara Grauf. “Club Darc marks an exciting opportunity to activate the historic Pier 48 with vibrant and diversenew programming.” "Working alongside our partners at the SF Giants, our goal is to further the mission of making San Francisco a global hub for electronic music," Goldenvoice SVP Talent Buyer and Club Darc founder Danny Bell said in a statement.
