FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) Fort Wayne businessman Darren Vogt is reporting a significant fundraising advantage in his Republican primary challenge against State Senator Liz Brown. According to recent campaign finance filings, Vogt has raised more than $135,000 since entering the race and reports nearly $107,000 in cash on hand. The filings show Vogt outraising his opponent as the primary election approaches. The campaign has also received a boost from Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, who publicly endorsed Vogt while criticizing Brown’s record on immigration. Rokita’s endorsement adds statewide visibility to a race that had previously drawn limited attention outside northeast Indiana. Brown, a Republican who has represented the district for multiple terms, is seeking reelection while facing a growing challenge from Vogt, who has emphasized immigration and border security as central issues in his campaign.
