Winter storm watch issued for New York for Sunday and Monday

On Thursday at 12:38 p.m. the National Weather Service released a winter storm watch valid from Sunday 7 a.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for Southern Herkimer, Southern Fulton, Northern Saratoga, Northern Warren, Northern Washington, Western Schenectady, Eastern Schenectady, Southern Saratoga, Western Alba
ny, Eastern Albany, Western Rensselaer, Eastern Rensselaer, Western Greene, Eastern Greene, Western Columbia, Eastern Columbia, Western Ulster, Eastern Ulster, Western Dutchess, Eastern Dutchess, Southeast Warren and Southern Washington as well as Montgomery and Schoharie counties.“Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulation greater than 7 inches possible,” adds the weather service. “An impactful long-duration winter storm is expected Sunday into Monday. Snowfall rates may exceed one inch per hour at times, especially on Sunday night.”
