Body found in burning car in Delaware County ID’d as Shelbyville man

DALEVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A body found in a burning vehicle in mid-December in Delaware County has been identified as a Shelbyville man, authorities say.
The death of Michael D. Greer, 54, has resulting in five arrests, Delaware County Sheriff Tony Skinner said in a news release issued Wedne
sday.
News 8 previously reported four suspects, all from Indianapolis, were charged weeks after the discovery of human remains in the burning vehicle: Amy Singhas, Ameraiss Aponte, Randal Moon Jr. and Megan Sloan. The name was the fifth arrestee was not immediately available Wednesday night.
In interviews with Delaware County sheriff’s investigators, all four from Indianapolis admitted they played roles in the homicide. They were charged with felony counts of murder as well as other criminal counts.
Court documents obtained by News 8 say Delaware County deputies and firefighters were called to a vehicle fire at 3:45 a.m. Dec. 14 at the intersection of county roads 600 West and 500 South. That’s about a 10-minute drive east of the I-69 interchange for State Road 67 at Daleville.
Soot was found in the deceased’s lungs and trachea, leading investigators believe the deceased was alive when the car was set on fire.
