PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After a suspect allegedly attempted to rob a woman who was sitting in her vehicle in Prince George County Tuesday night, police are investigating. According to the Prince George County Police Department, at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, a woman was sitti ng in her vehicle on Blue Jay Street in the Pine Ridge neighborhood when she was approached by a suspect. Police said the suspect opened the woman's car door, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings. According to officials, the woman was able to pull the door shut and drive away safely. No injuries were reported, and no items were taken, police said. Officials described the suspect as being a young Black male who is clean shaven and was wearing all back clothing and a black beanie at the time of the alleged robbery attempt. Investigators are asking residents of the Pine Ridge neighborhood to check their home security cameras for any suspicious activity between 10 and 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
